Precinct

In the seventh year of the Emperor Tenchi's reign (668 A.D.), it is said that a priest from Shiragi (Korea) stole the sacred sword and went through this gate. Since then it has been known as a gate which brings misfortune. Additionally, it is said that the gate was closed following the swordÕs return to prevent it being taken back to the Imperial Palace.
